The Mac app keeps connection settings and balance history on your Mac. Vendor keys stay in the login Keychain and never go to QuotaCanary servers; balance requests go directly to vendors.
If you opt in to update checks, the app sends its app version, macOS version and chip to the signed update feed.
The Mac app
The Mac app has no analytics. It uses read-only vendor balance or usage endpoints. Local history supports burn rates and run-out estimates. Checks and alerts require the app running and your Mac awake and online.
Website and contact
The website can use Plausible for aggregate page analytics when configured. Website and update-feed requests expose ordinary network metadata, including an IP address, to the serving infrastructure. If you email us, we receive your message and email address. Never include API keys in a message.
Local deletion
Remove a connection to delete its stored key and history, or use Erase local data for all app-owned credentials and files. Uninstalling the app alone does not erase those stores. Vendor records and copies you make yourself are outside the app’s control.
Self-hosting
Not on a Mac? Run the web version yourself. You operate its server and database, and its server can decrypt the vendor keys it stores. Encryption at rest does not protect against someone with both the database and the server secrets. Read the self-host guide.
